SSI Product managers - Mentimeter presentation - 19. August 2020

Adrian Doerk

Hello together,

as promised I would like to share the results of our collaborative Mentimeter session. Thank you very much for your input!

Topic of the discussion was primarily centered around the question:
"How and on what topic should we SSI product developers collaborate within the community?"

We came up with multiple topics, which are of interest and will further define how we can address these topics in detail.

I'm happy to announce that I will join Margo and Michael as co-organizer to support our shared vision of getting our products to market.

I'm looking forward to our next session.
Kind regards
Adrian

Re: June Product Chat

Thanks to all for joining today. Really enjoyed the call and presentations, as well as shared resources.

If you missed it you can see notes and links in our running document.  You can also continue adding agenda items and links for the next meeting at the top. Presentation slots (10 mins each) are open to everything from polished demos to early ideation.

Thanks to Michael Boyd for stepping forward to help me organize these meetings. We welcome anyone else who is interested in a leadership role with the group to join us. Also please share this group with other folks who are interested in the connection between technical foundations and business needs. All job titles and perspectives welcome. Just send them the group link and they can sign up: https://dif.groups.io/g/id-productmanagers

We will aim for for a monthly cadence moving forward (July invitation coming shortly).

June Product Chat

Margo johnson

Hi all,

Time flies (or does it?) while quarantined. As discussed in our last group call, let's have another product chat this month.  Balazs is sending out an invite for June 10th at 11am CST (4pm GMT) right after the DIF bi-weekly call. Do not hesitate to invite others, this is not an IPR protected call.

We will use the same google doc as last time as a running agenda/notes space.  I've set up the agenda to include new participant intros, ecosystem updates (working groups, events, regulatory), and slots for anyone who is interested to briefly demo/share a topic and discuss with the group. The idea is to have an informal incubator/space to share new ideas and possibly demos or walkthroughs if relevant. Please add yourself to a slot!

Re: [EXTERNAL] [id-productmanagers] COVID Immunity Certificates & Ethics

David Kelts

Hi All,

Margo, thanks for the share and the good read.

Similar in topic to this, I, along with many others in this space 😉, have been thinking about how we can apply technology we already have to solve some of the problems we have distancing our identity interactions.  It’s certainly an issue now (my refinance will include holding my DL up to the window frame of my door for someone on the other side to verify identity), and will become a large issue as we emerge from isolation.  Do we want “immunity lines” separating people?  Or do we want contactless ID transactions that lower risk and treat everyone equally?

To that end, I had posted yesterday a Medium article on using Contactless ID technology.  It will take many players to request this change and implement, as you suggest, Margo, without compromising privacy.  I linked your article within mine after reading it.

David

Hi all,

We talked briefly last week in the product coffee chat about the potential implications of COVID-19 related credentials.

This white paper was published yesterday by the Harvard 's Edmond J Safra Center for Ethics, written by Dakota Gruener (ED of ID 2020)

I wrote up a personal response on Medium that I welcome feedback and discussion around.

Hi all,

This is just a reminder that we're hosting a virtual product chat after the bi-weekly DIF meeting tomorrow. The chat will be at 11am CST (Wednesday, April 15th).
You should have received an invite from DIF including full zoom details. The link is here: https://zoom.us/j/898711197
It looks like a diverse group has already RSVPed so it should be a fun discussion!
If you have topics you want to discuss please add them here

Thanks,

2020 Product Check-in and IIW Prep

Margo johnson

Hi everyone,

What better time to re-engage this group than now. It's been a busy couple of months for our industry, and an undeniably difficult/strange time with COVID-19. I hope you and your loved ones are safe.

I'm interested in gathering for an informal cyber coffee to touch base, support each other, hear about new projects/use cases, and also brainstorm session ideas for those attending IIW.
In the un-conference spirit, whoever shows up are the right people!

Scheduling is tricky and won't work for everyone. For the sake of simplicity, I'll plan to "host" one gathering on April 15th at 11am CST (4pm GMT) right after the DIF bi-weekly call. DIF will send an invite to everyone on this mailing list, and do not hesitate to invite others, this is not an IPR protected call. Feel free to propose discussion topics using this google doc:  topics

Even if you can't make this call, chime in and let us know how you are doing, or to set up your own coffee time.
